This type of glass is made to bend, not break when it’s hit by bullets and other objects, which explains why it doesn’t shatter on impact. It’s made using multiple layers of glass and/or plastic, the middle layer being a “soft” glass, which allows for the bending effect. Building Glass

Building glass is a common building material typically used as a transparent glaze for the building envelope. It’s often used in windows in external walls, as an architectural feature, and in internal partitions. It originated in ancient Rome and was used in only the most important buildings because it was so costly. In the years since then, it was considered a luxury and was even taxed in England in the late 1600s. In the early 1950s, this glass became more commonplace due to lower costs and new manufacturing processes. Now, it’s available to the masses at much lower costs than ever before. Glass Block 

All across Utah, glass block windows are becoming increasingly popular with homeowners, architects, and builders. They consist of various blocks of glass fitted into a frame, resulting in a beautiful window. Before advanced in technology and design, the individual blocks had to be fit into the frame and secured with mortar, piece by piece. Using that method left glass block to be fragile and problematic. If the mortar loosened, water could get into your home and cause damage. Your house settling or shifting could put excessive amounts of pressure on the blocks and mortar, causing cracks and other damage. Now, the pieces are fitted in the frame in a factory and installed exactly as normal windows are, leaving less room for damage.
